Mondays always prove to be interesting days...it's my day off with my favorite two year old. And I don't know why, but it often seems like he doesn't want to take a nap. I'd like to think that he just wants to spend the extra time with Mommy. The only problem is that Mommy needs a little break in the day and no nap days make for not so fun evenings.
After spending an hour and a half in his crib with no signs of sleep, I decided to get him up and run some errands (otherwise it would have been a very long afternoon at home).
We started by returning a few things to Old Navy where he was his usual charming self.
Then we decided to go to Starbucks for a treat. Torin was very excited. While walking to the entrance of Starbucks, he kept saying, "treat, treat." I explained that we needed to pick what kind of treat we were going to have. Anyone guess what he chose? That's right. Cupcakes. So we shared a cupcake. I treasure those moments...sitting in Starbucks with my boy and sharing a treat. And what's so cute is that for a few minutes after we left Starbucks, Torin kept saying, "cupcake share."
From there we stopped at Target where I promised him I would get him some stickers (and pick up some prescriptions which was the real reason for the whole trip anyway).
I realized later that after not napping, I took him out for a cupcake and bought him stickers. I can only hope that he doesn't put two and two together.
